A little bit about yours trulyI am in my 30s, I currently reside in Italy (by way of being born here) and I have a boring 9 to 5 that I carry out so I can enjoy the rest of my time. My dream was to become a librarian, but that did not work out and I am in supply chain instead (a fate I would not wish on the worst of my enemies). And yet, because I am stubborn and also stupid I'm planning on getting an MSc in English Literature so I can teach the books that I love so dearly.
Every day I try to figure out life in a reality that seems to become more and more absurd, and I found that the things that ground me the most are the simple and small pleasures: a good meal shared with people I love. Laughter and jokes with friends and family, preferably in front of a good board game. A walk after sitting all day at the computer. A nap after lunch. Basking in the sun. Doing the crosswords or puzzles with my husband. You mean to tell me that my grandmother was right all along?!
Exploring my pages you will see I have a taste for classic books and old things. I believe that in the past, because of different methods of production, tastes and because of how slower life was compared to ours, things had more soul. I knit, crochet and embroider and there is an inherent human satisfaction derived in crafting and making objects by hand that gives soul to the objects we use, I think. I hope that our society will go back to value these inherently human skills and the objects crafted with them. I do not, however, long to get back to an imagined "better" past; I'm not a fascist and I don't dream of going back, I dream of going forward with technologies that works for people and not against them, to build a society that is equitable for everyone, profit is not needed, billionaires don't exist and all humans thrive in shared communities. The solarpunk movement is the one that most closely resembles how I envision the future.
I will write a manifesto to outline all these sentiments, hopefully in the next months.
I want to consciouly reject modern social media platforms (though I only used Tumblr and Youtube), but still want to share my musings, writings and research. I don't want to be always logged on. I want to contribute when I have something to share and forget the computer the rest of the time.
Libraries can be of many things, not just books; they hold are resources that all community can benefit from: I hope this will be the case for my small webspace also.
Hobbies & Favourites
reading - videogames - writing - cross stitch - knitting - crocheting - hiking
fond of: flowers (if you can't tell already), fairy tales, mythology, spring and autumn, the sea, the woods, the moon & the stars, animals are super cute but bugs and spiders are underrated.

Interests
During my BSc the focus of my academic interest was English literature of the 18th and 19th century, fantasy literature and the interconnections between literature, narrative and game design. Since then I've developed a fascination with Italian Reainassance humanism, interest in women writers from early 20th century which translated in reading a lot of detective stories.
I'm interested in politics and sociology, as well as philosophy. I have a layman interest in art, especially landscape art of the 18th century, and decorative art. Medieval history and ancient Egyptian history are my favourite periods to read and learn about.
I also find myself deeply entrhalled by modern conspiracy theories, for some reason I still don't comprehend. Though I do not believe them, I find them and the surrounding crowd fascinating. Might've been being exposed to the X-Files at 4 years of age.
